Proverbs 1.1-7
The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:
for gaining wisdom and instruction; for understanding words of insight; for receiving instruction in prudent behaviour, doing what is right and just and fair; for giving prudence to those who are simple, knowledge and discretion to the young— let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance— for understanding proverbs and parables, the sayings and riddles of the wise.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction. The understanding that God deserves respect and obedience, His words carry wisdom and life.

Obedience is the word – Šāma. Implicitly to Hear and Obey.

The Spirt of Discernment provides us with Wisdom and Guidance, Reference and Navigation. “and let the discerning get guidance—“

Who is giving us guidance?

Psalm 147:4.

He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name.

Isaiah 58: 11

The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land
and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. (Always – Stretched out, continuously.)

Guidance In alignment – Father to Son to Spirit to You

Flock words – to lead, give rest, lead with care, guide to a watering place or station, cause to rest, bring to a station or place of rest, guide, refresh

Jesus was gutted – Splagchnizomai – but the Spirit of Truth and Guidance was coming

David is speaking in military terms – circumvallation, entrenchment, a safe place
between the inner outer walls.

Psalm 139:5-7
You have surrounded me on every side, behind me and before me, and You have placed you hand gently on my shoulder. It is the most amazing feeling to know how deeply You know me, inside and out; the realisation of it so great that I cannot comprehend it. Can I go anywhere apart from from Your Spirit? Is there anywhere I can go to escape your watchful presence?
